The KESAN Impact Review 2023–2025 reflects three years of working together with Karen communities in the midst of conflict, displacement, climate-related disasters, and many other challenges. Through an Indigenous peoples’ rights-based, bottom-up, and community-driven approach, KESAN has supported communities across Kawthoolei to protect their lands and resources, strengthen livelihoods and food sovereignty, respond to humanitarian needs, and build long-term resilience. This review shares the achievements and lessons from this period, and recognizes the strength and commitment of Karen communities in protecting their ancestral lands, preserving their culture, and safeguarding their environment.
