Organic farming
Organic garden projects aim to provide local IDP communities with healthy food and income, and encourage the practice of nature-based agricultural techniques by using organic inputs like manure, compost and botanical plant protection agents. Using these sustainable agricultural techniques alongside traditional knowledge, the community can provide their own vegetables thereby reducing their expenses while improving their soil quality.
In addition to supporting organic garden projects, KESAN established Ta May Hta Eco-Learning Center where staff study different rice species and their production rates in a test farm, provide workshops for local farmers on the use of natural pest controls, compost making, and natural plant hormones.
