Karen language
The information gathered in the handbook was collected through interviews with elders and herbalists in seven districts of Karen State. Treatments were included in the handbook only when it was proven that the same treatment cured or alleviated maladies in more than 10 patients. The handbook (Karen language) includes information on treatment for 15 illnesses. It also includes information about where to find the necessary herbs, how to collect them, how to process the plants and what treatment to follow.
