Throughout 2021 KESAN has continued to support Karen communities despite challenging circumstances, not least the post-coup resumption of heavy fighting, our staff within the country going into hiding or fleeing to seek asylum from regime targeting, the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensified border restrictions imposed by Thai authorities. During this past difficult year each of KESAN’s programs was able to make progress towards the goals outlined in our 2020-2022 Strategic Plan.
