This flyer provides brief information about the Kheshorter Forest, a pristine ecological and social sanctuary for indigenous Karen communities, that has existed for many generations. Forests are one of the Earth’s greatest resources. In particular, they are an indispensible resource for indigenous Karen people as they ensure their survival and existence. Forests play a crucial role in the lives of Karen people because they provide a variety of services and goods. Some of these services include food, shelter, the maintenance of soil quality for food production, medicine, and firewood. Most significantly, the forest is a pivotal part of preserving Karen traditional and cultural identity.
