In the face of immense challenges during this third year since the military coup and the escalation of armed conflict, the unwavering spirit and resilience of the Karen people endures. The resilience of the Karen people has been remarkable, with community-driven initiatives such as rice bank networks, agroforestry, seed exchanges, and fish conservation strengthening Indigenous food sovereignty and community governance. Together, we are forging a path of hope and resilience, proving that even in the face of adversity, our collective strength and unity can achieve remarkable progress. This report reflects on the impact of KESAN’s work with local communities in 2023 under our seven cross-cutting programs. Please see our report for details.
